When Iskwater Meets Marge of Coffehan

Grammatically perfect ang ating panauhing pandangal ngayong buwan.
Isang petite and pretty blogger na ubod ng tinik ang writing style. Popcorn niya ang subject-verb agreement at maning-mani sa kanya ang verb tenses.

Minsan lang ako mapahanga ng isang manunulat na ang medium ay English. Luckily, I had the chance to meet her. Featuring her sa aking munting eskinita ay isang malaking karangalan at tulad ko, tiyak na maaakit kayo sa taglay niyang ganda - inside and out.

Aakalain mong mataray pero in person, maaisip mong may karapatan naman palang magtaray. Kutis mayaman, mukhang laki sa aircon  at may daily school service noong elementary and high school. Malamang 1K ang weekly allowance niya noong college. Sosyalera lang!

- I did a double take, I thought I misread your message. Buti serious ka naman pala hahaha... Oh yeah, I'm flattered of course.

What’s with the blog name, “Coffeehan”?

- It is a play of the word "kapihan".

When did you start blogging?

- August 2010

Sino o ano ang nag-inspire sa’yo to do blogging?

- I was compelled by my friend, Ana, who works in a newspaper to start blogging. This is so she could take me to her places of coverage, para meron akong "ticket" to be in those events at 'di ako masabihan ng events organizer na "Hu u? Lumayas ka! You don't belong here, hindi 'to libre kainan! PG, lapastangan!" mga ganyan hehe...

Ano ang iyong most favorite post so far? Why?

- It has to be this, "Random Post: Of death, living ghost, and busy folks."  It is my most heartfelt post, lakas maka-emo. For some reason, it also picked the minds of my readers. It is evident with their comments.

What are the challenges you experienced as a blogger?

- Hmm... Trying to find time to blog in the midst of my busy sched. There was a period when I had all the time in the world to write whenever wherever, ang problema ko lang nun, how to get past my katamaran. Now, there are materials to be written and there is the willingness to work on it, kaso sobrang busy naman ako sa trabaho ko. Lakas maka first world problem eh no hehe...

What direction ang nais mong patunguhan bilang blogger? Niche ba.

- I had a dream before to be among the country's most famous bloggers. Now after almost 3 years of doing this, sa awa ng juice, dream ko pa rin 'yan hahaha... Kidding aside, I want my blog to be popular, at least kahit within the bloggers community. Hindi dahil may hidden desire ako ma-feature sa Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, FHM Magazine (sabi ko sa'yo bangag ako eh), or gusto ko na konting scroll lang ng reader sa blog ko, may piso na ko, I want it to be known because a blog to a blogger is what a book is to an author (gumaganon?). Legacy 'yan ng blogger, na kahit mamatay ako ngayon na walang anak eh may maiiwan ako ng evidence of my existence in this world. 

Who are your Top 3 favorite bloggers? Why?

1) Madma - I like how he infuses politics and humor to come up with relevant but entertaining posts. 

2) Glentot - So far he's the only blogger na pinagtyagaan kong i-backread lahat ng posts. I like how he presents his story at sobrang nakakatawa ang mga posts n'ya. 

3) Pretty Ugly - She's witty, funny, writes well, takes fab photos, and yeah she is the prettiest blogger I know. Despite her beauty and good stature in life she can make fun of herself so reading her posts is always a joy.

Ano ang iyong pinaka-unforgetable experience as a blogger?

- When I joined the PBO program at Bahay ni Maria. There were other blogger events that I've attended prior to that but they were, most of the time, promotional. Ika nga, you attend, you write about it, then you move on. But with PBO, you don't move on, the essence of the event stays with you for a long time. You get a sense of purpose, it changes you, and it is by far, one if not the best thing that ever happened to me as a blogger.

Kung may babaguhin ka sa iyong blog, ano o anu-ano?

- Just my domain. I want it to be a .com. 

Ano ang iyong mga preparations prior to publishing an entry?

- Mainly on photo editing. I place a watermark of my blog's name on the bottom of the picture. 'Yun lang naman.

For you, paano mo masasabi na ang isang post ay worth reading?

- If it is engaging, entertaining, and relevant to the life of the reader.

Ikaw ba ay nag-skip read na? ‘Yung totoo.

- Of course.

Anung comment and hindi mo malilimutan?

- 'Yung comment nung atribidong blogger who tried to edit my post. Yon, hinding-hindi ko na yun makakalimutan! Kai-rita avila!

Sino ang pinaka-favorite mong commentator?

- Si Zai, because it is evident that he reads the post before siya nag-comment. 'Yung iba kasi parang naka-default na ang comment sa blog ko eh. Para bang nag-comment lang to encourage me to comment to theirs.

What do you hate most about blogging?

- Dealing with haters or all-knowing turds. 

Gaano mo katagal nakikita ang iyong sarili sa mundo ng blogging?

- As long as there's new food to try, places to explore, and personal shiz to deal with, that's how long I see myself in blogging.

What will make you quit blogging?

- When I no longer have time to maintain it.

How do you want to be remembered as a blogger?

- As a person who may not have all the money in the world but tries her damnedest to do the best things life has to offer.

Ano ang iyong mensahe sa iyong mga mambabasa at sa mga prospective readers na rin?

- Don't comment for the sake of commenting. The best compliment you could ever give to a blogger is when you've actually read what he/she has written.

Ano ang iyong sariling definition ng Iskwater?

- Iskwater for me is a brand of survival. You become one not because you wanted to but because you had to do something to live.
